BBC Radio 3 Festival of Free Thinking
13-Nov-2007

The BBC Radio 3 "Festival of Free Thinking" has returned to Liverpool for the second year to give the public the chance to come face-to-face with some of today's leading artists, scientists and other thinkers. The theme of freedom will be explored through interviews, public debates, poetry and live performance.

ICDC Chairman and LJMU Trustee Professor Phil Redmond launched the festival with the Free Thinking Lecture on the Friday 9th November 2007 at St. Georges Hall, Liverpool. The speech is available for a limited time on the BBC Radio Player available from their website.

ICDC has been commissioned to develop interactive work for Big Screen Liverpool as part of an exhibition of international video and interactive works for the BBC Radio 3 Festival of Free Thinking, titled "concrete cannot stop them". The exhibition was a response to contemporary themes of pervasive surveillance.
