Mobile Movies Screening

Mobile Movies: Liverpool Youth Service & Powerhouse Screening

The Mobile Movies project has been developed by Liverpool John Moores University's International Centre of Digital Content and is part of ICDC's Digital Inclusion Programme which develops projects and opportunities that aim to encourage community groups, schools and other organisations to work creatively with technology.

Mobile Movies is funded by Mediabox ( a Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) fund for disadvantaged young people aged 13-19 to make creative media projects about the issues that are important to them.

On Tuesday 30th October 2007 Mobile Movies had a joint screening for the young people from both the Liverpool Youth Service and Powerhouse Foyer groups to showcase their Mobile Movie masterpieces.

The evening put the spotlight on the young people and it was an opportunity for them to share and celebrate their talent and creativity with their fellow film makers, members of the Mobile Movies Steering Group, friends and family.

Some of the young people presented their work to an audience of 40, however, all participants were awarded with a certificate of achievement and a CD of their work.

ICDC received some great feedback from the participants who were really pleased with the workshops they had taken part in and the work they produced.

Mobile Movies will be continuing with future film making workshops over the next 3 months with groups such as Refugee Action, UK Youth Parliament and the Irish Traveller community.
