"Free and Open Source" Conference
Success in Education
Friday 19th October 2007

Open Schools Alliance in conjunction with Blue Fountain Ltd and Liverpool John Moores University's International Centre for Digital Content (ICDC) hosted a "Free and Open Source" conference on Friday 19th October 2007.

The conference entitled "Success in Education" was a great success, no doubt attributed by the draw of the key speaker, Martin Dougiamas, Chief Executive of Moodle.

The conference was a showcase for the successful deployments of free and open software solutions in education worldwide with demonstrations of leading software solutions such as Moodle, a free and open source software package designed using sound pedagogical principles to help educators create effective online learning communities.

The conference was well attended with a cross section of people in the education sector including Head Teachers, ICT Co-ordinators, Special Schools, Network Managers, School Governors, Local Authorities, Politicians, Schools and Colleges.
