A programme of specialised training events for artists, creatives and designer-makers starting their own businesses in the North West.

Pick & Mix is a brand new scheme run by The Design Initiative in association with Setting up Scheme 0608, delivering high quality training and information workshops, aimed at creative workers who are just starting their own businesses.

Working on commissions: essential knowledge for visual artists and designers about commissions - how to get them and how to make them successful, as well as about who exactly commissions artists. Views from all sides of the issues involved from artists and commissioners, including ceramist and lighting designer C J O'Neill, photographer Rene Lumley, Bronwyn Platten, arts project manager LIME (arts and health) and Dr Jennifer Harris, Textiles curator from Whitworth Art Gallery.

How to take part: Pick & Mix events are for all creative industries professionals throughout the North West at a cost of 10 per event. To book please go to www.prospernw.org.uk, you will then be able to pay via Paypal by using Design Initiative's online seminar booking system.
